Moving to Tennessee soon. I am curious about the traditional community around Chattanooga. What kind of public land hunting is available and is there a local traditional club? Also any local bowyers around the area? Thanks.

Matt, If you don't already have plans for the Tennessee Classic(May4,5,6) make them. It is about 30 miles north Nashville near Clarkesville.
All weekend(and the week before) lots of wood bows, mostly selfbows will be built and shot there. Some of the best wood bow bowyers in the country will be there so lots of chances to gleen info from them.
There is probably more info in the Trad Shoots and Events threat. Look for Tenn Classic or Twin Oaks Bowhunters

Matt,  I'm not far from Chattanooga.  Maybe an fifty min's or so.  The Old Pharts is a great club.  No dues, nothing fancy, just good friends getting together and shooting once a month in-between hunting season.  It's in Crossville, that would be a decent haul from Chatt.  maybe close to two hours, but worth the drive at least once.  Once your up here Twin Oakes is a MUST!!  In fact, your not allowed to live in Tn and shoot traditional unless you attend!!  ;)

Once you get up here shoot me a pm and we'll hook up.  There is some really great country around here and the hunting can be very good.  Look forward to hearing from you.

Ethan

Matt,I live in Cleveland, just 30 min from Chatt.i have many targets in backyard so you're welcome anytime.lots of good hunting in middle tn where the ag crops are.here in the east are the mtns where big deer are but not as many(Cherokee nat forest) is open for deer for anyone with permit.chatt has one archery shop that has an indoor range(choo choo archery) that you can go and shoot.it is both a wheel bow and they do have some trad stuff for sale at times.you will want to go to LBL(land between the lakes) on the ky line.its40 miles through it with half in Tn.lots of open hunting is not near what it used to be.the deer heard has grown significantly since 1970.where I live 40 yrs ago you did not see many deer, now they are everywhere and lots of turkeys.look me up and like Ethan said the IBO is at twin oaks and u will love the time there.bessings to u and I hope the transition goes well with u.
