Bag target ?
« on: March 22, 2012, 03:23:00 PM »
I'm looking for the largest and toughest replacement bag cover I can find.  Any suggestions?  Can't find a burlap bag big enough.  Looking for something around 30" x 40"

There were some big burlap bags on the auction site but they were priced pretty high if I remember correctly.

I've had the same burlap bag I got from the Farmers' co-op for probably 15 years now. I have never replaced the bag, when it shows sign of wear I just stitch a new facing onto it.

Ames used to make a "Pillow target" that was 40"x40" with grommets in 4 corners and a deer target painted in opposing directions on 2 sides.

sewn 3 sides and slit in top to shove shrink wrap or your favorite filler inside.

Ran about $18 last I bought but can't find them anymore locally... net sites were "out" or B/O this past summer...

Find a wool sack they are burlap.  4ft x7ft they will hold a lot of  shrink wrap.  I get mine at the local feed ranch supply store they cost $7- $8 bucks.
If you can't find one pm me and I'll see if I can help you out.

Just got 2 of the ames deer pillow targets from 3R.  Gonna stuff them today and set them up.  They have 2 different deer positions, one on each side. I think they go for $17-19.  Seem to be a heavy burlap too.

ECA,

they are stout. If one was handy with feed sacks, you could keep repairing the shot out sections with overlays for a long time!

Good to see them filtering back into the system. Must have been a mfg lull when I was searching...every site was b/o and nobody local had them anymore!

58, those sound like the Cat's jammers! 4'x7'. That'd make up one of Rick or Ron's "bales" for sure and certain!  Never heard of them.

Now I have to start searching! Wow!
