Getting ready for my Trip...pics
« on: July 27, 2007, 12:00:00 PM »
My trip is getting close now!

Next week I'm off to New Zealand, where I'll be staying with Friends on the North Island for a month.
On my way back to europe, I have 4 day stop-over in the US where I'll visit a friend in Waukesha.

Now Why do I tell you guys this
Of course, I won't leave my Stick'n string at home.
I don't know how much hunting I'll get done in NZ, but compared to not beeing able to hunt at all, every minute of it will be just awesome and I'll do my best to keep you guys updated.

This is what I'll carry in the woods:

My 62"  60#@28" Great northern Critter gitter 2piece takedown.

With this selfmade screw-on bowquiver to hold my Ribtek wearing Gamegetters.

I glued little brass rod pieces in my arrows to increase FOC and overall weight.
Now they weigh about 580 grain with 18% FOC and fly equally well with point weights from 125 to 165 grain!

The six arrows with TG-Wraps will be my go to arrows, and I'll try hard to get some of them covered in that bubbly red stuff    :archer:

Since it's winter in NZ I cheated a little and fletched my hunting arrows wit 2 vanes and one feather, so that only the feather touches the shelf and I get good flight under dry and wet conditions.

Also these two babies will come along as guest presents for the couple I'll be staying with.

The hadles are made of Australian sheoak(red) and
german oak plus some polished leather and silver.

Took some time to make those...oak is kinda hard to work with when you don't have any
powertools   :readit:

I hope they'll like'em

Hey Philipp!

Thanks for all the kind words guys!!

Sergio... yes I made those, I think the blade is the odel model. Seems to have just the right size for a hunting/fishing knive. It' about 3 1/2 " and scary sharp. Gotta love the Norwegians for that!!

Falk...the arrows fly exactly like the ones I fletched with 3 normal feathers. It's not my "invention" though, someone else here mentioned it once.

Jeff...I'll be staying on a farm near Huntly (don't laugh   :help: ) I'd love to catch up with you!
Don't know what my friends have planned for me when so maybe I could contact you when I'm over?   :wavey:

Over&Under...I plan on doing a bowquiver-a-long when I'm back.Would have done it earlier but didn't have a good camera!
hope these pics help.

works like a charme and wayyy cheaper than any
bowquiver you can get here in europe.
