Back in February I had the pleasure of spending several days with a great group of folks down at Ray Hammond's place chasing Hogs, socializing and getting to know new folks. Everyone there that weekend were top notch folks and I have kept in touch with a couple of the guys that were there. One was half of a father son duo that made the trip down from New Jersey. He is a member her but doesn't post nearly as much as he should. Super guy and was one of those people that you feel like you have known them your whole life within minutes of meeting them.
So after leaving Ray's place we exchanged email and voiced if we ever got the chance to do so, we would like to share a hunting camp again somewhere in the future.
Well about a week ago, I get several emails from this gentleman that I recognized right away as the result of a blasted PC virus so I shot an email over and told him what I was seeing and offered to help remedy the problem. So after a couple of phone calls to diagnose what I thought might solve his problem I sat down and put together an email detailing what should be done and how to correct his issues. The next day I get an email stating that the issue was resolved along with a thank you for my assistance.
Today I go to the mailbox and there is a large envelope. Inside is a thank you card and a mint, hardcover copy of the book "Early Adventures with Howard Hill". The card states ".............Since you are a Hill Shooter, I'm hoping that your collection can use the enclosed book."
Once again I am left speechless by this wonderful community. What this gentleman may not know is that just being able to help him solve his problem was enough for me.
I know he probably would not want me to state his full name, so I will just say, I hope he reads this and knows that I truly appreciate the gift and consider him my friend. Thanks Ken!
Regards,
