Brace height question
«
on:

I have a Dakota Classic and I am wondering what the brace height should be... As I have been shooting it its at 6 7/8 which seems to be too short. Where should it be?

Did I post this question in the wrong forum or something?

How is it shooting? Try running it up to 7 1/2 or so and then back down (you won't hurt the bow). Let the bow tell you what it likes..
Anybody out there got a Dakota classic that can help out here?

Give the bowyer (Rick Welch) a call at 501-821-3791. I'm sure he'll help you get it set up correctly.

Thanks guys. Rick answered my email today. I only have it a little over an inch and a half off. LOL
I am still green as grass, so... what difference should I see when I correct the situation?

take your arm guard off and shoot it a couple of times at the brace heigth you had it at and then move it to the correct brace, I'm sure you'll notice a difference:) Probably will be quieter too and less finicky/AKA more forgiving.

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

I am sure I would have noticed a difference if it weren't for the bruising and nerve damage.
The good news is that I am a good bit more consistant since giving the string a twist or two. I still haven't worked up enough courage to shoot without the arm guard. I shot about 10 arrows without it right after I got the bow. Now, I am a slow thinking Mississippi boy but I caught on to that in a matter of minutes.
