Which KME
« on: April 08, 2012, 03:43:00 PM »
Got some Abowyer Brownbears. Tried sharpening the one I've been shooting, ain't happening! I can sharpen 2-blade double bevels fine with just a file but these single bevels are whupping me!

I would recommend the knife sharpener. I use a lansky which is similar at 30 degrees.  I  Use it on Abowyer Javelinas.

Buy the KNIFE SHARPENER....not the broadhead sharpener.....you'll get more use out of that and it works GREAT for broadheads.

I would go with the knife sharpener also. If you shoot wood, you can leave the broadhead on the arrow.

Order you a xtra course diamond stone and use it until you have a very sharp edge. Then switch to the medium india for a few minutes, then the fine arkansas and DONE !

xtra course diamnond stone was the best thing I bought from KME. Most folks do not use the course stones long enough and think they have established a bevel all the way to the edge, when in fact they have not. I do not leave the xtra course stone until my edge is pulling hair or shaving hair. After that all you are doing is refining and polishing the edge. IMHO the KME system is the greatest tool ever devised on this planet !!! Cannot say enough good about them !!!
