Ive picked up two Hunters with nicely figured bubinga risers.  Both bows shoot as advertised, but I am considering sending in the risers for some grip reduction, wrist angle lowering and refnishing.  Has anyone else had this done to fit a medium sized hand??

In have not done this but I own Predators. Mike and Ron would be able to help you very quickly on the telephone.  Hunters Niche is their website. Great fellows who really know recurves.

Yes, I'd already called in and made the inquiry, reasonably priced work and a short turnaround time.  I was just wondering if anyone had found the grip to be on the large side, had taken it down and did you like the results?

I ordered mine with a slightly smaller grip.  Perfect!  I couldn't be happier.  Personally, I like a full grip.  Not much of my hand makes contact anyway... mostly my area between the thumb and forefinger, so most of the grip is not a concern.  I ordered a slightly smaller throat and like it.

I have never had a Predator but the main reason I didn't was the grip, my hands are med to small and the grip was just to big for me. If you have it reduced let me know how it turns out.....maybe I would try one in the future!!

I have two Predators.  The first, with a narrow grip, and my favorite.  The second I bought used as a second set of limbs (and I got the riser too).  That one has a much thicker handle, and I hate it.  BUT. . .   I don't need it so it sits in a drawer.

Predator is pretty well known for having large and small handles.

By the way. . .  Predators are really pretty sweet shooting bows.  But if you get the handle you don't like on the first bow. .  well, it sours your taste of them.

They  worked on a used one I bought, I like it a lot better.  They reduced it quite a bit.  Had a very quick turnaround also.

I have the bigger handle and it took a little getting used to. I only use my thumb and pointer to grip my bow so it actualy became quite comfortable after some time getting my grip situated.

I always wanted to try a Predator but I also found the grip too large for me. I did not realize that the Bowyer would customize the grip. I think that I will have to take another look at these bows.

I bought a 67 Kodiak Hunter as a back up to my Bear Take Down. The 2 grips totally different with the KH grip being a lot thicker. Turns out it fits me better then the Bear Take Down. I since bought a Predator Hunter new. It has virtually the same grip as the KH. I have a med sized hand and i love this grip. I now hate the smaller grip of the Bear Take Down. Great bow the predator.
