Good Release???

I'm still new to this and was just wondering how to execute a good smooth release? What do you focus on? What will it feel like when it happens?

Hunter74,  Go over to the Shooter's Form Forum and do a search for Release, release tips, etc.  Lots of discussion available there.  You're asking a complicated question for just a short answer.
11 H Hill bows
3 David Miller bows
4 James Berry bows

Are you willing to give up what you are; to become what you could be?

There's a lot of info about that sort of thing on the Shooter's Forum, complete with videos and advice, so make sure you check that out. I went there and posted some videos and asked questions and got a truck load of help that worked for me.

From my limited archery experience (started in 2009) I found that after I hit my anchor, I focus on keeping my back tension tight and strong. Then as I bring my shoulder blades that last little bit "together" my hand relaxes and the arrow is away. The "feel" for me is that I didn't really realize that my string had freed itself from my hand. You know, I didn't focus on opening my hand or on releasing the string.
I stare at the target and keep my back in the game. The final confirmation is that my hand has gone rearward. That's my 2 cents.    :dunno:

Grab string with deep hook
Keep hand relaxed
Draw bow into your anchor point
Aim or focus on target
Slowly increase back pressure as you decrease finger pressure
Continue to pull through after the hand releases the string

I focus on the target, but I am concious of my grip, elbow, back and follow through.  I try to keep my grip relaxed, pulling my elbow back, feeling my back muscles squeeze together and my hand and arm continuing back after the shot.  But again, my FOCUS is on the target.
