Advice For Buying A Knife Sharpener?
« on: July 30, 2007, 08:16:00 AM »
Looking to buy a commercial type of knife sharpener, seems that all of my knifes get dull very quickly, and I would like to buy an easy-to-use sharpener. Any suggestions?

I have a GATCO set up. Works good. Lansky is about the same but the stones are wider on the GATCO. You can get diamond stones for them. Just don't use petroleum based oil on the diamond stones.

I have the Broadhead Pro from Alaskan Bowhunting Supply. I use it on my knives and broadheads. It is very easy to use. I ended up getting one for every one I hunt with.

KME Makes and excellent knife sharpener.  They also make an excellent broadhead sharpener.  I have one of the broadhead sharpeners and will be using it very shortly along with my diamond stones and strop to sharpen my 125 gr Eclipse broadheads to get ready for my deer hunting trip to IL in late October/early November.  Please note, you have to buy the stones separate from the KME sharpener, or already have them on hand.  Check out the following thread for more info:

The following link is the web site for KME.  It tells about both the broadhead and knife sharpeners, as well as accessories.
