New Whippen Stick Long Bow
« on: May 04, 2012, 01:22:00 PM »
Just picked up a newer Whippenstick in A trade , shot her last night for a very short time and not sure how I feel about her yet. She's quite but has some vibration ( bare string other than brass knock point). String is tagging my wrist a tad even with the brace at the top in of recommend specs. (7") Vibration picked up also. She seems to like 6 3/4 brace from what little I have played with it, pretty quick and at 15 yards without a tune drilled em pretty good. Not the prettiest bow with the textured finish but no big deal there.  What are others thoughts , where did brace end up ? Thanks

Yep, 6 3/4 brace is what mine likes, but mine has no vibrations.  I have had mine about 8 months and still in love with it.  What are the specs on yours?

never heard of the whippen stick.

Motherlode, I see you are from Valley Sprgs. Do you belong to that 3D range in Escondido? I think its called bear state archers.

It was more of tuning fork vibration , slight .  Some hush pups took it out . Put just enough on to take it out. For as light in mass as this bow is it wasn't bad. But curious to see how she handles with a lighter shaft, Im a tad over 11 grns per in.
Yea bud I'm alot further north in the Sierra foothills.
