South Florida Bowyers?
« on: May 10, 2012, 08:36:00 PM »
About a month ago I picked up a 45# PSE Mustang from the local Bass Pro kinda on a whim, and now I'm in love. Now, I'm gonna give this romance a little time to stew and make sure it's not some brief fling (but I REALLY think she's a keeper this time), but I'm poking around for a new bow. I'm thinking longbow this time. Now, the price differential makes a really strong argument for a commercial bow (I've been looking at the Samick Red Stag I Longbow real durned closely), but I REALLY want a custom bow.

So with the prelude out of the way, does anyone know of any South Florida custom bow-builders? I'd much rather buy American custom if I can, and I'd even more prefer to buy local, and South Florida is where I live.

Any help from you folks would be much appreciated.

Not sure of Florida Bowyers. But if you want a good bow built by a good guy at a good price check out Maddog archery Mike is a great guy.

I live in Miami I don't think there is a South Florida Boywer. Order three Maddogs one for the wife, for the daughter and one for me. I love them great price and quality. Your are welcome to check them out if you are near the falls area. There is also a trad convention in central florida with all the boyers  http://www.tbof.org/

Tom Allen in Melbourne builds very nice longbows. Has been doing so for 20 plus years.

What about Brown Recluse Bows, formerly E.T. Williams Bows? Seen them advertised in TBM. Believe they're made in S Florida.

Hey Byatt, where are you at in South Fla? I'm in the Boynton Beach area and try to get to the range every weekend, if you're close send me a pm and I'll let you test drive any of the bows I have, always looking for more trad guys down here to join the fun  :)
