I am thinking about making a string with D97 and B50. My question is how many strands of each and will the B50 out stretch the D97?

I'm guessing it is not a good idea with 2 (very different) string materials and stretch rates.  Also a little curious as to why you want to mix the two.  I'm sure Chad and some of the string makers will chime in and let you know what they think.

Do Not mix materials! D97 and B50 have nowhere near the same stretch rate. D97 is like steel cable and B50 is like a rubber band.

Agreed.  Don't mix them.  Can use a few short strands of B-50 to pad the loops of a D-97 string though.
