Beautiful day here today and I get stuck in an all day class to keep up my CT logging license.
On the way to it we had a fisher run across the road in front of us,pretty cool, first one I've ever seen.
My wife called me at lunch and said your bows came in the mail.Bows??? I was only expecting one this week.Seems that Craig at Howard Hill got mine done ahead of schedule! Then she said one of the tubes is broke open and two arrows are hanging out,OH NO!!!!!!!!!!! That's the Pete George "BamYew" longbow I had coming from Leo Markert,he was sending some arrows with it.I actually felt sick to my stomach. My wife said it looked ok but I'd have to check it.The 4 hours of class after lunch was torture,I just wanted to go check the bow. After a 1 1/2 hour ride home,I checked the bow over, not a scratch on it,YEEEEEHAAAA!!!! Leo shipped it in a thick case and that got snagged on the edge of the hole in the tube and kept it in.
Both of these bows are gorgeous.Craig built the bow exactly like I described. It's a string follow,Wesley special,66",52# @ 26",named "Blackwood" Blackwood riser, center lam and limb tips, elk wrap and satin finish.I wasn't expecting it yet,so I have to make some arrows up for it.
The Pete George bow is a "BamYew" 66", Maple riser with bamboo and yew lams under brown glass back&belly.Horn tips and a high gloss finish.
Here's a pic, doesn't do either bow justice.I'm going to take some good pics outside tomorrow and put them in the Hill thread.
