West Virginia in July

My wife is planning a vacation for us the second full week of July to West Virginia.  Anyone know of any shoots that time of year?    :archer2:

Gawd I miss ATAR. Have you checked out the Trad Events forum? I just checked the Trad Clubs forum for WV and there's nothing. I refuse to believe that there is nothing available.

AHA!

July 13-15....Mid State Archers Traditional Rendevous.  This is at Flatwoods, WV right on I 79.  This club hosted the IBO Worlds for about 5 years straight so they know how to put on a shoot.  There is a post on the Trad Events forum.

They set a great range last year. Holly Gray State Park is a fantastic place for a shoot.

I have talked the little lady into attending this shoot while we are in WV.  Hope to see some of you there.  :archer2:

Hermon, do you plan to camp or stay at a motel?  There is a Day's Hotel (not Inn) right there at Flatwoods at the exit and about 1 1/2 miles from the shoot.  Real nice rooms, restaurant, has indoor pool and is right across the road from an outlet mall for the wife.  We hold the WVBA annual awards banquet there.  Remember..."Happy wife, happy life."    :bigsmyl:

Thanks for the info.  We are going to be doing some camping and some hotels on the trip.  Always good to get some first hand info on hotels.  Thanks!  :archer:

Besides the camping at the shoot (mostly primitive I think but some hook-ups as well) there is also a KOA campground right behind the hotel as well.  Flatwoods is a neat little area--not big but has several good spots to eat and some shopping nearby for the ladies.
