Fred Bear TD & Hunters Niche Predator

Been wanting a td recurve that I can order limbs for without a custom fit and these two seem to fit the bill. I have shot a Predator but never even handled let alone laid my eyes on a Fred Bear TD. The Predator really shot well for me even though I only loosed about 5 arrows max. Would like to know from guys who shot or own/owned both your opinions on the two. I have had one Wood Bear riser and also a mag B riser. And have had 3 A mag risers with assortment of diff limb lengths. They are reaaly great bows.  The quick limb replacement is awsome.  I prefer the A riser with no 3 limbs to make a nice smooth 60" bow or the no2 limbs on the B riser for a 62" bow.

I have owned 4 predators and love them too....maybe a little more.  The only thing they give up to a Bear is that the takedown isn't as nifty as Bears, but none are.  They are smooth and fast and very well made.  I still have 2 and one is my go to bow right now.  If forced to choose between the 2 the Pred would get my nod but I ain't choosing!

I have several Bear TDs and one Anniversary Edition Predator. I bought the Predator because it reminded me of the Super K but in a TD.

If I had to keep only one of these it would be the Predator.  The Predator is smooth and fast.

i have owned many predators over the years.  i think they shoot awesome.  they have also been my fastest bows especially at weights around 45#.  customer service is exceptional.  older models may have a grip to be desired but the newer ones have a smaller grip and they will work with you to make the grip fit you as needed.

I love Bear T/D's, but my Predators are better shooters. Smoother, faster, better grip. And, you can't beat the service you get from them.

I cant comment on the Bears but I thought I'd comment about the Predator grip.  I've bought a couple used Predators with the older larger grip.  They changed mid-06 to the smaller grip which is about 1/4" smaller at the neck.  I've sent two risers back to have them made smaller and they charge $60 each.  They even refinished the limbs on one for that price.  Customer service is second to none.  Don't let the grip be a deciding factor on a Predator.

I have both a Bear Takedown '09 and a Predator Hunter '11. bear Takedown is a beautiful bow. mine shoots really well but makes a ton of noise. Creaks, T tighten everything, took off the side quiver, waxed the inside of the limb pockets, took of the tip protector, can't get it quiet. Again shots great but the noise drives meh nuts. I focus on the noises and not my form! I shot a Predator at my local range every Saturday for about 2months. Final got the funds to by a Predator Hunter, I asked for an old school model made in solid Bubinga. Wasn't crazy about the future wood. Ordered a 50@28 but at the last minute called and asked if they could make it 45@28. That said yes and in 6 week as promised I got my Predator 46@28. love the bow. My $1000 Bear hangs on the wall while the Predator is my go-to bow. Fast, quiet, has more pep them a 46 lb. She likes 2016 aluminums. Shots them like darts. I Wasserstein concerned about the grip being too large but love it. I have med sized hand. I also owned 2 Bear Kodiak Hunters, still have one. It has basically the same grip. great service from Hunter Niche. Mike will answer any questions you have. They said 6-8 weeks and it was too my door in under 8. PM me if you want more info.

I've shot Bear T/D's since 1970 so maybe a little different but owned a predator for 2 years, shot a couple deer with it but sold it. I didn't notice any more speed or smoothness and the Bear fits my hand a little better. Both good bows!
