Become the Arrow by Byron Ferguson. Excellent how-to shooting read.

Hunting With The Bow And Arrow by Saxton Pope. Awesome stories that will get you excited about hunting with a trad bow as well as some old school how-to's.

E-Donnal Thomas...anything he writes is good.

'Become the arrow' by Ferguson is good, the video is good too, having him stand looking over your shoulder is better.
I have all of the old books up to Sagittarius, the last books I bought were  Craig Ekin's book about Howard Hill and John Schulz 'Straight Shooting'.

For inspiration...
I'd get Hunting The Hard Way by Howard Hill along with both of Fred Anderson's books Toxicated and The Traditional Way...
DVDs...The Masters of The Barebow Series for sure!!!
With that said....get all you can find...everyone has something to Add or share...
Fred Bear DVDs and books are awesome!!
Fred Eichler and other contemporary hunter/archers have great stuff to share...
some Trad Gang guys made a great DVD which I have...
Dean Torges...books and videos...
old...Ben Pearson VHS....
Saxton and Pope!!
...
The Wensels...
John Schulz...
Rick Welch...
....get..read...view.... it all.... this a wonderful journey...don't rush yourself...
...this is not the instant gratification route...
I like all bows...recurves, longbows, selfbows, compounds...but unlike compounds...the "stick bow" requires/demands more effort and vigilance on the part of the archer/hunter.... Ohhh...but the satisfaction is even greater...
..now I put away my soap box  :)  LOO!!
Have a nice day!
Kevin
