« on: June 17, 2012, 03:58:00 PM »
I just got one of these, Thanks kids.
Should the cock farther start in line with the line on the knock. Than rotate around he shaft?
Does anyone have any pictures?
It will be three feather set up
Thanks for your help.
Hopefully you will see me as a better person today than I was yesterday..

On a three fletch the cock feather lines up with the square part on the indexer wihich has a R for right wing or a L for left wing, if has neither I can not help you!

The cock feather should line up with the indexer On your nock.  In fact, I am using all natural barred, so will be relying on indexer or a mark on feather.    3 fletch shouldn't matter though as even spacing.

I also just used an old bitz for the first time last nite, was finicky getting tuned, but is solid and easier now.

I adjust it till I have the best mating of feather base to shaft and that will give you plenty of helical with a helical clamp. Put a feather in clamp, put arrow in jig and put clamp onto jig WITHOUT glue and hold the whole thing up to the light and turn it so you can inspect both sides of clamp to see that feather is mating to shaft well the whole length. Try to loosent the allen screws in the little knobs just enough so you can move them around, but no so loose that they move on their own, adjust it to where you want it and then tighten and check to see if you still have good mating. Your going to love it. Also once you have it set up, it doesn't have to be changed for different size arrows. At least I don't and my arrows fly good when I do my part.

You will need to put a feather in the clamp and a shaft on the jig, then use the adjusters to get full contact of the feather base on the shaft.  I always dry fit every feather before gluing.
I'm getting more dangerous all the time...
