It's always opened on Sept. 27th up North, what's a couple of days....Early Bear is like Sept. 15th. I think the earlier, the better.........just more time in the woods being able to take game is a good thing. Real nice weather also, great for a canoe or back-pack trip into the big woods.

It had always been Oct 1 here in Missouri for as long as I can remember, then they changed it to Sept 15 in 2004. So I don't think it is too early.

Ron, Let me know when, Iv' been wanting to get back up there for way too long. If we do happen to get lucky, thats just icing on the cake.Three or fore guys together would be perfect. Canoe trips are a good way to hunt { and fish }. Closed summer camping areas can also be an option. Your getting me worked up Ron- when do we go?

I went to a Trad Only 3D shoot in CT a few weeks ago. Happen to meet the VP of either the PBA or NY Bowhunters. Can't remember the organization. He mentioned that it was still be considered strongly. He also had some grim information about crossbows in NY.
