The LaClair Special goes back a ways,even before we developed the Shrew line. The bow was made for me by Randy Denel of Saxon Archery. It was an all maple limb bow that was stained with an aniline dye that gave it a yellow gold, almost like osage. I use to call it "mock osage" or say it was a poor mans Osage.. :D
I wanted the double shelf because at the time I was practicing shooting both left and right. I used a center back quiver and wore a glove and arm guard on both arms. I thought it would be a big advantage in some hunting situations.
