30 inch draw and a MOAB
« on: June 28, 2012, 03:27:00 PM »
MOABs are one of my favorite bows and I might have the opportunity to pick one up. Will a 60 inch MOAB be good with my near 30 inch draw?

Have you asked the Bowyer Jim Reynolds?  I'd start there.

Not yet. I'm planning to give him a call as well. I'm just looking for other "real world" evidence as well. Thanks!

I shot a 60" MOAB for awhile at 30". I shot it 3-under and had no problems.

thunderstick archery MOAB by Jim Reynolds.

I know he recommends a 62 inch for that draw length, but perhaps a 60 will work well too.

I draw one to 29 and can pull longer. For me the finger punch is about all I really want at 29 shooting split. I think it can do 30.  Good luck finding a 62. Those are on the rare side. I had one and kind of liked the 60 better.

I've had the 62", 60", and a 58" MOAB... Still have a 60" and also have another 60" on order that should be here shortly...

Finger pinch isn't an issue, and the 60" really is the magic length for the design... Can't really put my finger on what it is, but the 60" just behaves and shoots better for me then the other lengths, and my draw is right at 30"...

Oh, and Terry, did Jim get your girl fixed or was she a casualty?

I pull 30 but shoot a 62" MOAB, haven't tried the 60" but with my string torque problem I need all the forgiveness I can have so i stay with the 62"

I must just add I was a recurve guy for 20 years and the MOAB was the bow that made me switch. I've got 2 of them and would like one more, they are awesome.
