Antler knob limb bolts  :D    What were you thinking?  Geez, get your mind out of the gutter, this is a PG13 website  :)

When the new Bob Lee phenolic risers hit the scene, me and my buddy Troy both thought it made sense to add mass to your riser for your 3D setup.  So he called Dave Windauer and bought the LAST set that Dave had in stock.  Troy is a better archer than me anyways, but I started to obsess about not having a pair of bronze knobs  :(   Finally, after a 3 month wait, Dave got some from his source that casts them.

So yesterday, No Doubt and I took a truck ride out to Dave's with the checkbook.  Holy crap...  75 bucks for the recurve equivelent of a stabilizer?  But then I got home and shot my bow with them.  Man what a difference 8 ounces can make...  I can't believe how much it settles down the riser when you dump the string.  Not only that, but the 440 ACC Prohunters I had here that were a little stiff on my 52# limbs are now blazing bullet holes through paper, and I picked up 3-5 FPS through the chronograph.

If anybody here has thought about trying a set.  DO IT!!!

Biathlonman

Aren't you supposed to be scouting or something?  Looks nice...I'm obsessing over where to cut weight, you're adding it on!

Dan Adair

Oh, don't worry.  They won't be on my riser when we're 8 miles from the trailhead this fall.

I got today off rather unexpectedly.  I work 2 days next week them I'm loading up the KU5200 and dissapearing somewhere with or without Ed.  I might even make a shoot somewhere...

Shinken

Those are most-excellent limb bolt knobs!

That is an interesting increase in velocity with the extra mass....

Enjoy!

Shoot straight, Shinken

Shinken.  I even threw on the old antler knobs just to see if it was me.  Granted that was only one string of 3 with each set, and not very statistically significant.  But it appears to be true.

What made me grab the chronograph was the fact that I noticed a little more bow noise, and that it had tied up the cat whiskers pretty good, which is odd.

The theory makes sense I guess.  Riser mass is harder to move, which in theory means the limbs are doing their job better.

YORNOC

Awesome, I've been waiting for mine, time to make a call!

If you were waiting on Dave, like I was, he JUST got the castings on Monday.

YORNOC

My bow was done in late January, but they were out of bronze knobs. I made a quick pair out of real, but I LOVE mass weight in a bow. So I've been anxiously awaiting. Here it is now, I'll post a pic when they come in.

NICE...  What skins are those?

My hunting limbs are 60# and have prarie rattler on them.

Dave ran out of them right around January...  Blame Troy, my buddy  :D

YORNOC

A special set. Wild Okeetee corn snakes from Florida.
Damn it Troy!  ;)

That's a pretty one.  Don't see too many with hardwood risers these days either.

My next one will be another black riser, black glass on the limbs, and some kind of snakes on the back, probably with Antelope tips again.

YORNOC

I sat on that piece of cocobolo for 8 years!

You know...  I've got a piece of exhibition grade Walnut here that was going to go on a pre64 Model 70...  :D
