Harry And The Hummingbird Raven

We get together on Tuesday nights here at the shop to do a little paper and 3-D shooting. It's a good chance to get together with the guys, stay tuned, and see some new equipment. Here is a bow that was brought in recently that we all took a liking to.

One of the guys (Harry Angel) brought in another Hummingbird longbow that shoots like a dream and doesn't look bad either. Harry says that it is fast, quiet, smooth, with no hand shock...,and it hits what you are looking at. As per Harry's instructions it has a wider shelf and the sight window is angled in like a traditional longbow. He says that it shoots heavy arrows really well. As you can see in the photos the bow has black glass limbs and a cocabola riser. Feel free to show your Hummingbird bow and share your comments.

 
 
 

 
 

Harry has only been shooting for about 3 years I believe. In the two weeks he has won two local tournaments and I believe was 2nd in the third one with this bow. The only gripe that I have is that he won't use bright fletching for us to shoot
at.

Harry is one of my favorite folks. I first met him at the state shoot two years ago. Preston nicknamed him dirty harry/harry dirt. go figure. He was shooting a david knight primitive bow then that we were all impressed with.

I am sold on hummingbirds !  My son has the anniversary long bow and I have a beautiful TD recurve (will post pics) got two more on order. Ben is very talented and a super nice guy.

Don, Harry is shooting particularly well right now. He practices daily and is working with Ben to get a bow designed to his specs. Like you, I think that he has his eye on the IBO that's coming up soon. I believe that both of you could do well there.

OBXarcher, there are a number of great bows out there, and Hummingbird is one of them. Of all the great shooting bows that I've come across over the years, many of them were Hummingbirds.

I have a 62" Kingfisher and it really is an amazing longbow. Flowing lines, sweet grip, one of the smoothest drawing bows I own, quiet, accurate  and speedy!

I have been shooting with Harry almost every weekend this year. I was able to hold my own (I think he let me win a few times he probably didn't want me to get too discouraged). He started whipping me bad when he got the Raven. I shoot Hummingbird longbows and love them. They kill the heck out of critters.LCH

Tonight Harry hammered us with that bow. In addition to Dirty Harry and Harry Dirt, for me it's now Hammering Harry. How does someone get 2-3 arrows into a 1" bullseye without arrow damage?

I had the pleasure to meet and shoot with Harry and some of his friends from NC at the Sherwood  Archers traditional shoot in Roanoke, VA.  I'm a trad newbie myself (7 months), but I was blown away when I was told that Harry had only been shooting for 3 years.  He sets the bar high for rest of us!

I have seen Harry progress over the last 3 years. We shoot almost every Tuesday night here at the shop. Harry is usually the first one here and the last to leave. He is a perfectionist who spends a good deal of time on making sure everything is right. He can tell you exactly what his brace height is, how many grains arrow weight, what the bow # is at his draw length, what the fps is at several different arrow weights, what the POC is, etc. His attention to detail has made him a standout shooter and drawn him to the Hummingbird bows that he likes so well. They make a combination that is frankly hard to beat.
