I was wondering.  Some states do and some don't, what does the law in Texas say?

Mike:  There is no longer a weight requirement in Texas.  RW
Don't practice until you get something RIGHT.  Practice until you Can't do it WRONG.  Dave Rorem

Yep, but about two, or three years ago they dropped that regulation, and now there is no minimum.

Might as well drop it.  It's not like a game warden in the field was equipped to check it.

and I'd add - consistently accurately.

I asked Billy Shipp one time about broadheads for hog hunting - in typical Texas style, his response was "if you put them in the right spot it don't much matter; if you don't it don't much matter."

I think that's true for draw weight as well as broadheads.  If you can put the arrow in the right place, 30# or 35# will work just fine - if you can't, 70# ain't going to solve your problem.
Don't meddle in the affairs of dragons; people are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

There is no longer a minimum draw weight in Texas. I have a female friend who hunts with a 31# at her DL recurve. She is VERY selective of when she will take a shot and at what range. She knows she is limited by her lack of draw weight and hunts accordingly. She has taken whitetails, hogs, axis, aoudad, and several other animlas. It can be done successfully if the archer is prepared for it and does not try to go to far.

VERY well tuned and SCARY SHARP are two things that are a must!

No problem it was for a customer, I'm not hunting in Texas.  Thanks for the info.  -Mike
