Tapering questions UPDATED with my fix

Ok y'all. So I got my raw shafts in the mail and I go to taper one so I can bareshaft tune and my mock taper seems to short so my mock even after the glue has dries wants to wiggle all over. And then onto the point end it seems to make too long of a taper and the point bottoms out before it gets up the the untapered section???? I am at a loss here. I bought an 11/32 pencil sharpener looking taper tool and it seems to be all wrong?
Any input for me?

Oh, I will be trying to snip 1/8 Th inch off the point taper to see if that helps

Thats what i do. Usually an 1/8" will get them seated good

So that is normal then? What about the nock end? To you see to have issues

Nock and point end. It varies from shaft to shaft. Its pretty normal. I check fit before i glue.

So what I did was hook up the grinding wheel and with a speed square made a tapering block real quick. I held the arrow on the guide and by hand ran the angle grinder over the shafts. Not the best way but it worked. I will be buying a tru center tapering tool though.

A wood chuck taper tool is designed for this, and works perfect.

Thank you for that information but I saw those listed in the magazines but I did not want to spend the money when I had th know how on how to make the tapering block. And what Ill end up doing is buying a $20 8-10" sanding wheel for my table saw and then Ill have a secure platform to work off of. Much cheaper for me.
