Sadness about a bow
« on: July 09, 2012, 04:19:00 PM »
I just broke my bow  one hour ago... I broke my dear Samick Spikeman just when I had my arrows flying true. And I broke it... I thought I was more evolved spiritually and not so attached to material things. But I still am. I broke my bow..I would have rather broken a finger. Sorry guys, I know you will understand..   :(

Bad stuff! I hope you were not injured and the bow is covered by warranty.
Y'all can flame me if you want to; but I have heard about more broken Samicks than the rest combined.

It actually split quite close to the riser. As I drew it went crrrrck. I thought I had it strung badly but no... it was strung well but it just could not resist...I have a split between the layers of the upper limb lamminate.. bugger... I'll see if they will help me in any way. It's the 3rd bow I buy off them in Merlin archery UK and they have been so kind and helpful so far. I can only hope they will take my fidelity as a costumer as a good point and give me a hand because if I am totaly honest, archery and being outdooors is waht keeps me going, really... Thanks for your kind words gentlemen...   :(

Good luck on it, time will heal the passing of your bow. Eventually. I think. Maybe not.

I assume the bow was still fairly new to you, because you said, "just when I had my arrows flying true".

Just wait until you have a bow break that is a tried and true friend.

NOTHING to do but move on and get a replacement!  :D    :campfire:

Thanks for your kind words everyone. Bonebuster, I can only imagine how I would feel if that was the case.. I had this one for about a year now and never tought I would feel this sad. Imagine if it was a companion of years with a lot of memories attached.I really want to sell my kayak and buy a bow at least $400. I think I will go for a flat long bow next.

Sorry for your loss.  Good luck on the search for a new companion.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.
