Goldtip Nock Failure

Had two failures resulting in two dry fires in three weeks. Be careful  if you are using these nocks!

Posts all over about them.  I missed biggest buck of my traditional career last week of season at 12 steps.  Bow dry fired.  I thought it was my fault and  hit a limb, but found the knock split all the way diagnal still in shaft.  First thing throw all the gold tip ones away and get some bohning.

As mentioned above they had a bad production run of them, you or the dealer must of been sitting on them for awhile. If you call Gold Tip's tech department they will send you new ones.

Both of mine were orange as well. I'll call the Tech department and see what they say.  Thanks.

I have a few dozen arrows with GT nocks and haven't had any failures. But after reading about all the problems with them breaking I replaced all of mine.My buddy sent some back to GT for replacement and got the new ones and had several of them break also.I just won't take a chance on them,I would rather just replace them instead of taking a chance to maybe hurt one of my bows. For me Easton 3D Super nocks, they have the largest and deepest throat of the push-in nocks I've found.

The only ones I have ever had a problem with were an occasional one that I probably grouped a little too closely with and didnt look at them prior to shooting.  I had 2 have a crack in the bottom of the groove that started the failure.  You could tell how it broke that it had started a while before it actually went.  That is my fault, I should inspect more closely especially if I hear shafts slap when hitting the target.

Yup.  Had a few dry fires with different colors.  Never again.  They can replace them, but that does nothing for a missed opp or a ruined bow.  change them out- signature nocks work great.

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.
