I hunt a couple miles north of 70 so I'll have to wait until Sept, but its still miserable out at that point. If you can make it through the first thirty minutes of daylight the bugs usually go away for most of the day.

Marty...I'm not getting this post. You get to hunt whitetails in August and then come to the Midwest for the november rut?  You looking for sympathy?  Are you really the guy who caught that hog with bare hands?  Just messing with ya. Good luck out there and try to stay cool!

I am the same way even here in KS.  Forget October for me. . . too much heat, and too many bugs and spiders everywhere!  Sweat and poison ivy do not mesh either!!  Give me November in KS. . .

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.

I would drop whatever normol socital responsibilities were keeping me in that state and move north several latitudes.  Enjoy that.

Leaving work in a few hours to bike into our camp 12 miles back.

Good luck everyone!  I'll be coming out with at least some stories and hopefully some fuzzy antlers and a bunch of steaks!
Give me a bow a topo and two weeks, and I guarantee I kill two weeks!
