What kind of glue works good for gluing inserts in carbons? they are going to be brass, in goldtips. Also do you glue in the nocks?

i've used JB weld for the inserts and it works well. any good epoxy should work well, though. and...i might add...using what carbon arrow manufacturers recommend will no doubt work, too. LOL
i usually 'scour' the surface of the inserts and clean the inside of the tube and the insert with acetone before gluing to insure better adhesion.
i DO NOT glue the nocks as 'adjustment' is some time necessary.

i was told by a sales person, when purchasing an out-of-date newpaper that it was out-of-date...
i told her "i've been told i'm out-of-date, too"...
does that mean i'm up-to-date?

I prefer Bohning Powerbond,it cost alittle more but a drop will go along way.I haven't had any failures if you prep your shafts. And I'd like to be able to remove the inserts if I want to change my setup for a different bow.I know JB Weld works good but I wonder if you can get the inserts back out if you decide to change your setup for a different bow.

If you have to you can take the inserts out later by heating up a field tip with the JBWeld

The shop I go to suggested gorilla glue, clean the inside of the shaft with a Q-tip and water and put a small amount of glue on the insert.water is the activation agent and so far I've not lost any inserts. Not sure how well they'd come out if I wanted to,I've used hotmelt for that(low temp that comes with easton arrows)and don't heat the shaft.Genrally ya don't need to egt the inserts back out agian anyway.Good luck

You can use a low heat glue stick. Your inserts will never come out unless you heat the field point. Been using them for years and never had a problem. Alos when using the low heat glue stick you don't have to clean the inside of the shaft like you do with epoxy. You don't need to glue your nocks in. Just push them in with the tool that came with your nocks.
