Bowstring maker referrals D97
« on: July 14, 2012, 03:50:00 PM »
Hi guys,

I've a 60" 45# Quinnn "Stallion" which is seeking the companionship of a couple of D97 bowstrings. Quinn suggests a string 56.5" and others have suggested 56".

In either case, the string needs to properly fit a nock throat of .120" (Bohning Blazer Double Lock).

So, I'm seeking referrals from satisfied customers to custom bowstring makers.

Much appreciated,
Nocknockwhosdeer?

Dynaflight is one of my favorites, and I have it in..I think around 20 colors (need to look).  I also carry 62XS and Halo in several different sizes.  I'm out of town for my anniversay, but will be home Monday.

Chad, what's the difference between D10 and D97?

Thanks for any input.

Dynaflight 10 is (was) SK78 Dyneema, vs. Dynaflight '97 being SK75 Dyneema.  I say "was", because Dynaflight 10 is no longer made by BCY.  They do offer a similar material in their...I think it's "Force 10" x-bow string material.

As far as actual difference...according to Ray Browne at BCY it was minimal--not enough for them to keep making it, especially after they came out with 8190 Universal which is SK90 Dyneema--the best version yet.

We have several string crafters here and from what I can tell, they are all very good at it and have GREAT customer service.  I have strings from LBR, Oliverstacey and SDB and all are excellent.  Oliverstacey (Josh Sowerby) does most of mine now because we have developed a bit of a friendship.

Get Chad to build you a skinny string out of 8190. You will get optimum performance out of the string.
