Wapiti longbows, overlooked?
« on: July 17, 2012, 07:56:00 PM »
After purchasing a used Wapiti "Yellowstone" longbow and spending considerable time with it on my range, I find it to be one fantastic bow, IMHO.
I see lots of threads and posts about other fine bows, but very, very few about the Wapiti longbows.
Im not sure of the reason for not seeing many, but it seems to me that they are a bow that is badly overlooked. Is there a reason for that? Any other Wapiti longbow shooters out there?

I have owned a Wapiti Spike for over 20 years.  It is my "go-to" bow.  I've killed deer, elk, mountain goat, antelope, mountain lion, and missed a bighorn sheep with my Spike.  Keith makes a very nice longbow.  I now own a second heavier Spike that is a two piece take down.

I have many other longbows that I have collected since that first Spike, but the Wapiti Spike is  the one I pick up every fall for elk season.  It just seems to shoot where I'm looking.

Love mine. Arrows go where I'm looking, is silent and no handshock. It has performed flawlessly on deer. I believe they are among the best bows made.
