Post up a pic of the knife if you can. Someone will bite I'm sure. If it ain't fancy and depending on the knife I might be able to help you out.

All my tooling stamps are in Raleigh with my niece and nephew. So plain is better right now for my leather work.

I dont have pics but its a Bark River lite hunter model. The sheath that came with it was junk. the stiching cameout and the knife doesnt even fit.

I've got the same problem. I have a knife that I really like, nothing special it just holds an edge real nice. The problem is it came in a set of three and a sheath that holds all three , not very practical. Would love to have a sheath for the one knife.   :dunno:

Here is a picture of the knife that I have that is sheathless. Anyone have any ideas or plans for a simple and cheap way to make a sheath?
JV Rooster, Didnt mean to hijack your thread but reading it reminded me of my sheathless knife.

I want to make my own, but I feel it would be a waste of time and materials because I dont even know where to start. I was hoping someone had a brilliant idea or a great sheath plan that I could follow.

It's not difficult Richie. I started making sheaths with absolutely zero leatherworking experience. Here's a link to get started:
 http://www.knivesby.com/dan-sheath-tutor-1.html

Here's how to make a split-pouch:  http://www.mickleyknives.com/html/sheath_1.html

I prefer the fold-over method. I have several Bark River knives and their early sheaths leave alot to be desired.

Here's a fold-over for a scandi grind Enzo knife I made:

Get some 8-9oz leather, vegetable tanned (Tandy's is good), a couple of leather sewing needles, some waxed thread, and you're ready to start. A little Tandy's starter kit with booklet (instructions) can help alot.

Making your own can be a pretty simple process, if you are moderately handy. Just looking at some should give you some good ideas; haven't looked at any how-to's but I'll bet there's some on this site.
As far as having one made, I recently received one I ordered from Steve Catts, "Leathersmith" - not a sponsor on this site, but well recommended. Good guy, very reasonable, and very nice work. Might take a while, but worth it. He very well may have a simple "pouch" style sheath in stock that would work for you. I got a pretty basic pouch sheath for my knife, but wanted it hand laced, rather than stitched, and also in a cross-draw style: first time trying one of those, and I think it's GREAT!
Just some thoughts for you.

I've used this guy:

 http://sharpshootersheathsystems.com/front.html

He can do Kydex and he can do Leather.  I know he's done sheathes for every single Bark River Knife(AWESOME KNIFES) as well as the Kabar Becker line.  He made me a sweet leather sheath for my Kabar Becker Necker...It's sold as a neck knife but I love the size of the blade and the handle.  Had some micarta grips made for it and now she's in this sweet low profile leather holster with one of those fire sticks.
