Looks like that D5000 is treating you well . . . I've always heard good things about Sigma's "the beast" looks like the rumors are true:) Looks like a great trip!!

Thanks, Chris!  I have certainly got my money's worth out of that camera.  I enjoyed the lens a lot.  It is a beast though.  The osprey pic was freehand, but the deer and bear were on a tripod.

Looks like a great trip.  Cade's cove is a wonderful spot.  Don't forget to check out some of the virgin cove hardwoods in the park too.  Most people don't know how big hardwood trees can get.  It is a pretty neat place any time of year.
