« on: July 27, 2012, 06:55:00 PM »
im going to make me up some new arrows tomorrow and i was wandering if there is a real advantage of 4 feathers over 3. my arrows will be cedar shafts and i will be hunting with the magnus 2, 4 blades. if i have a well tuned arrow will the 3 be enough or would 4 be better

I went to 4-4" for awhile but really didn't shoot any better or worse than my usual 3-5". 3 fletch is cheaper to make up and does what I need it to.

I tried the 4 fletch and like Rob I never saw any benefit and the three fletch is cheaper. Fletching is getting pricey.

I'm using 4-4" and it's just nice to not have to fool with an odd fletch, next batch may be.... who knows!

I have used 3 fletch for 28 years now, never saw a need for 4 fletch.

Do 1 up and see for your self whether you like it. It's a personal thing.

I use both 4-5" and 3-5" I can see no difference in how one flies over the other.

I use both as well don't think there is any real advantage to either one.  I do kinda like how the four fletch looks though.

I really like 4-5" feathers.  I can't prove it, but I swear they fly better.  Plus it's more feather for my eyes to follow in flight.

I like both 3 - 5" AND 4 - 4".  Just depends on what YOU prefer.
