The more square inches of feather you hang on the back of the shaft, the faster it stabilizes the arrow after the shot. For a short range hunting shot, with a broadhead, or maybe with a little less than optimum spined arrow for the bow, this can be handy.
The more feather, the faster it stabilizes, and the slower and noisier the arrow flies. Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to find the most efficient fletch length, shape and height for your hunting combination. I usually go for a 4 1/2" shield, and trim it just high enough to stabilize the arrow well.
Oh, I like the quiver, but it looks a little short. Got kids? The "Lincoln Green" arrows are entirely appropriate. (I just bought a copy of Robin Hood, with the Wyeth illustrations..
