Opinions on Magnus Snuffer BH

To be more specific. It is a 100 grain 3 blades glue-on boardhead. Did any one here use it? If you did, how did it perform?

I don't much care for the 100 gr. The blades and tip are really thin when you compare them to heavier Snuffers. 160's are another story...

Ive been using the 160s for over 20 years on most of my setups but I have used the 125s on lighter bows with no problems.....allways a great bloodtrail!!!

I generally prefer the 160's myself but have taken alot of hogs with the 125's too.

I find them a pain to sharpen and weak as compared to any decent two blade.
I have had them bend on soft bodied critters (feral goats).
But agree that they leave a great blood trail!

The 100's are just a shadow of the 160 that elevated the Snuffer to legendary status.  If you need the 100's due to making weight, I'd suggest you use an insert/adapter and use the 125 Snuffer instead.  The 125 is much stronger than the 100.

If you're shooting woodies it would take very little tweaking for you to be able to move up to a 125, which would be my recommendation.

That said the 100 will work just fine for deer if that's what you're tuned for, we have all weights in stock.

Killed three deer with 125 grain screw in Snuffers.They cut a heck of a hole and did the job. However all three heads were bent and could not be used again.

Exactly!  Those would be the same as the 100 glue on.  They'll work, just not real durable.

I used the 160's religiously for years. Tough as nails and makes a 12 gauge sized hole in deer.

Snuffers were designed to the the full sized heads (160 gr without adaptor).  To make them smaller they are just ground down = thinner blades.  The 145's are OK, but the smaller ones than that have too much metal taken off and lead to weak heads.  If you are stuck on lighter heads I wouldn't use the Snuffers - find something else.  If you want to use Snuffers use the 145's or bigger.

Just my thoughts, having spent much of my youth putting Snuffers together.....

Thanks for all the info.  I'll tweak my woodies to move up to 125 as suggested.

I've had success with the 125's, but switched to the 160's.  I don't find them hard to sharpen once you get the initial grind down.  I have a bunch of different BH's, but come time to hunt I always have the Snuffers in my quiver.  It's just too hard to switch when I have personal confidence in these heads.
