Price of a Robertson Peregrine

I am looking to get back into traditional.  A friend used to have a small shop and still has a few bows left that he can't seem to part with.  However, I might be able to get one from him.  He has two new (never sold) Robertson Peregrines.  One is the solid model while the other has the take-down hinge handle.  Both at 50-51#.  What is a fair price for these?
He also has a Waipiti one piece and a Canebrake one piece as well, but I think both of these are a bit heavier.

In this market around $400 +/- $50 would be about right.

Wish I could find a LH Peregrine in that range.  Great shooting bows.

I would think closer to $600 for one with the hinge in it as I would try to buy that one

I see them used here and other sites for 300-400, but thats used etc.  New obviously tacks on some $.

what about the other two bows?  He also has a Monarch longbow, but I never really felt the love for the longbow...

I don't believe Monarchs are made anymore.  Very good bow when Brian and Monty were making them, and after that as well, which is probably what your friend has.

He has both.  His personal bow was made by Monty and a new one in the shop was made by Brian.

I had a Robertson like these and sold it used for 550 several years ago.
  The Canebreak is a speedy bow but the Robertsons are nice.RC

Honestly, it's worth whatever you are willing to pay for it.  If you feel like it's a deal, then it's worth it.

Can't remember for sure, but I think my three year old two piece takedown, with Pierce Points, sold for $850 about four years ago.  That was before shoulder surgery and I didn't think I would shoot righthanded again.  Sure wish I still had that bow, it was one of the smoothest recurves I have shot.

I have a few peregrines, the older style with the 50's kodiak style handle...I have them in both hinged and solid... I would not be afraid to pay $500+ for either bow, and up to $700 for the hinged...He makes a different style now, the grip is dished with more of a pistol/hand locater grip.  I would buy a used older peregrine that is scratched up for 300 to $400 all day long.  Who knows how long dick will be building bows to.  You can't go wrong with a peregrine, my all time favorite bow period.  I am actually looking for a low #50's perergine....
