7 Lakes Longbows...Who has one? How do you like it?

I was wondering who among us has a 7 Lakes Longbow? Do you like it and how do they shoot for you? They look to be a very high quality bow, well made and beautiful. If you have pics of yours, please post them.

I have one and love it. I would put it right along side my Sentman and Robertson longbows and you could not tell a difference in quality.

Send a PM to Mike (7 Lakes). He had a SWEET RH Hill style longbow which was either osage or lemonwood. It was sleek and BEAUTIFUL. 40# I believe. It was like holding air. I held it at the NCTAC shoot back in May.

I swear the limbs were less than an inch wide. It was stunning.

Mike's bows are nice. He has u-finish types too.

Mike, if you read this, please post some pics of that bow if you have any. I still can't believe how nice it was. Truly a well crafted and unique bow.

I have one of his long night longbows that I finished. I love it!! Mike is a great guy to deal with. Would like to purchase another with the carbon limbs. Can't go wrong with these bows.

I got one of his Hill style blanks with carbon backing.  It finished out very nicely and shoots great.  It's a fun project and a good way to get a quality bow at a reasonable price. Mike will help you through any questions you might have.

I have one. Nice bow. Finish isn't as good as some...oh wait, I finished it      
I got a blank and made a double shelf so i could shoot "off side" to get a little balance. I really like it. Mine is 44 lbs and I'm shooting a heavier bow with Elk in mind right now but I'll probably shoot this most of the year.

He built one for me and delivered to me right before the NCTAC and i love it. My son and myself had a big time at the NCTAC shootin' skeets with it. Beautiful maple, copperhead skins, tip overlays and a real thumper. mike is great guy and very serious about building the bow just the way you want it. 7 Lakes thats an awesome looking bow. What is the widest and narrowest limb measurements? I love that big handle. Limb profile straight,backset?

Hey cahaba.  The bow is slightly less than 1 1/8" wide.  Tips are a little less than 1/2".  

I only have enough East Indian Rosewood to build one more of these.  The East Indian Rosewood is what was confiscated from Gibson awhile back.  Not because it's endangered, you can buy all you want as long as it's shaped in country before it's shipped. Gibson could have had all they wanted if the necks were cut and the frets installed before shipment. This pretty much means it's impossible to get.

I've had a Short Night and Long night forever and they have been my go to bows.  Now I have a String Follow "Carolina Night" (Hill Style) It's the most accurate bow I've ever shot and I love it.

I also buy blanks from 7 Lakes and finish them for all my po cousins & nephews.

I have a beautiful 62", 53@28, Bamboo Actionwood with Birdseye maple veneer. It pulls 58 at my 30.5" draw and is so smooth. It is amazing, at a recent shoot I had quite a few people with bows that cost a lot more comment on how good looking, and how quiet it was. Mike is a stand up guy, not only a good bowmaker but someone who puts on Bird Hunts for Wounded Warriors. It doesn't get much better than that.  If I ever need another longbow you can bet it'll be from 7 Lakes, thanks Mike for all you do.

Josh's bow was the first 7 lakes bow that I'd shot.  Like he said, smooth, quiet and looks great.  Now if I could just shoot it half as well as him, I'd be set.

Mike is an awesome guy to work with, and his bows are fantastic. I've just received my second longbow from him, so I now have a Hill-style "Carolina night" with a Carbon lamination and a Carbon-backed R/D "Long Hard Night" with a nice straight/traditional grip wrapped in Stingray. I've also gotten arrows matched to each bow from Mike - I have one of Mike's bow and arrow combinations to thank for the closest thing I've had to a Robin Hood.

Very quiet, fast, stable, sending arrows along with authority. Excellent workmanship as well. Part of me doesn't really wanna bring up Mike's bows so he doesn't get too many customers and I end up having to wait longer for my next order! BUT, the guy runs a great shop and puts out a great bow, so credit where credit's due.

I've already been thinking about my next bow. I just have to figure out a way to justify it to my wife.... Wish me luck!
