Wrist sling anyone use them?
« on: August 06, 2012, 06:23:00 PM »
My buddy was at a National 3D shoot this weekend and one of the top competitors said that he should be using a wrist sling so as not to torque the bow when shooting. Any one had any experience using one. I know when you watch some of the recurve olympic class shooters they mostly use one.

I use one on my ILF Oly Bow and a finger sling on longbow. They do help with a relaxed grip.

I use them, have gotten several of my buddies to use them, and we all shoot much better. If it works, do it!!

I do in cold weather. I hold loosely, and the sling keeps my numb fingers from dropping it. Provides an excellent release too.
The slightest torque can dramatically alter your shot, and you may never know you're even doing it.

got to thinkin about it.. a wrist sling like you have on your bow arm?  my original thought was some type of release aid like a tab or glove. anyways, i'd still like to know a little more please and thanks again.

I use one on my recurve.
Life is a whole lot easier when you just plow around the stump.

I use ones I make. Probably drop my bow out of the tree without one I'm so used to them.

Hoyt,me too, lol. It's kept me from dropping my bow out of a stand before.I've used a homemade wrist sling for years, really helps the torque.
