Hey, Morrison ILF owners...

I just picked up a short wood Morrison ILF riser (Mini 14?) with "C" longbow limbs. I see it has small allen screws on each side of the riser and would like to know what the heck they do.

Those screws lock down the limb adjustment bolts. Just be sure to loosen them before you make any adjustments, and tighten them when you are done.
Also, ONLY make adjustments when the bow is unstrung! I have a buddy that found this out the hard way!

Out near the end they adjust the dovetail pocket for limb alignment!

I'll assume you're referring to the lateral limb alignment in each pocket? If so, should you have a set of limbs that aren't quite true, you can adjust them--not often needed, but handy if you do.

A.S. says, "Also, ONLY make adjustments when the bow is unstrung! I have a buddy that found this out the hard way!"
Well I've violated this "rule". It seems I read that Morrisons ARE adjusted while strung. Can someone confirm/deny this?
...and Jim, what do I look for to determine lateral limb alignment in each pocket? I assume I just make a visual to confirm the string lies center from tip to tip?

Not necessarily to adjust not quite true limbs but also some riess can warp, probably more often than limbs being not true.
I'll do minor adjustments (Morrison riser) as in tillering with bow strung but major cranking I unstring.

I should clarify that I was talking about a wood riser when I said to only make adjustments while unstrung. My friend had a problem when he tried to adjust the limb alignment screws while the bow was strung, not the limb bolt screws themselves.

I was at Bob Morrison's not too long ago shooting one of his bows, which was a bit to heavy for me. Bob reduced the weight by turning the limb bolts out some while it was strung. I am not sure if this is recommended practice or not, but this is what I observed. The best answer would be to give Bob a call and ask for the recommended method.

I don't think there's any problem doing the tiller adjustments on a strung bow--watch the YouTube video on the subject.

Tiller and poundage adjustments can and should be made with bow strung.
NEVER adjust lateral limb with bow strung. To change lateral limb pocket remove limbs loosen bolt in the middle of the Dovetail pocket adjust screws both sides ( loosen one tighten the other)once you have it where you want it retighten the pocket bolt.
