Bob Lee red Wing hunter ?
« on: January 17, 2007, 05:30:00 AM »
Anyone have one of these bows ? The NEW hunter is actually a red wing hunter also- my guess they got into legal problems calling them a  red wing hunter. Anyhow does anyone have one? What brace height have you found to work best? Do you like FF on them or Dacron , on other bows I have found the Dacron to be noisy. Are these bows noisy ? I just bought 2 LH ones on e-bay , the first for a friend the other for me. Thanks for your replys.

I have an older LH 58" 50lbs@28" Wing Red Wing Hunter.  It was made long before FF, so I use dacron strings.  I shoot it with a brace height of 9.5" and an elevated rest.

It's a pretty bow, but not particularly fast, quiet, smooth, or easy to shoot.  It's pretty much relegated to bowfishing and stump shooting...

I have found this bow to be the best solid and quitest recurve I have ever shot. It is quite as a longbow. I'm trying to find another right now, if I can't I will purchase a new one !

I found a 58" 60#@28 on **** and love it.  its has great speed, almost as fast as my Bob Lee signature recurve, and shoots pretty good for me, it has become my new turkey hunting bow.

Bought a new one two years ago from Rob at Kzoo expo.  It came with fast flight and is very quiet so no reason to try any other sting material. I shoot mine with a brace height of 7 3/4".
This is one of my quietest bows and that includes my longbows.

Nice shooting, quiet, fast, and easy on the eyes, could not ask for more!
