Long Long bows

Who hunts with a bow 66" or longer?  What length do you consider too long for hunting?

i only really hunt with "long" longbows and the min I have hunted  with since maybe 2002 would be 66" ... i have toted shorter bows afield but not for long as I much prefer the longer bows for their shooting qualitites

I'm planning hunting with my 66" Abbott this season. I don't hunt from ground or tree blinds, strictly spot and stalk. Plus where I hunt isn't heavily populated by low branches so I don't foresee a problem. But ill find out I'm sure.

I have hunted hogs with my 72" Warbow.  Just have to cant it a little more than usual.  It is a little more difficult to drag it through the rainforest but, still easier than dragging a string gun (compound) around.

I hunt in thick  rain forest to flat open plains ... always from the ground by stalking so have no knowledge of tree stands or blinds

68" this year.  Stalking, ground blinds, and stands.  Been practicing in the woods with it at stumps and the like.  Don't forsee a problem due to length.

I hunt with bows that are 66"to 68" from either spot and stalk or nowdays from ground blinds. If you practice from these environs you will see what you have to do to be proficient with a longer bow.While there are some problems theirs nothing that can't be overcome.

66" this year. I don't see any difference in hunting situations compared to my 64" that i used last year. In a tree or ground they both work great. In a pop up they both need to be canted

ditto....from chasing hares and grouse in pucker brush alder thickets to hanging out in the trees....66 and 68"ers!

I have used a 66" bow for the last 10+ years.  99% of the time it is from a treestand.  I will sometimes spot and stalk and there is the occasional ground blind hunt, but I have no problems.  You just get used to the bow and it is just like anything else.

I shoot a 66" longbow, and have no troubles in the woods; I mostly hunt on the ground.  I like the stability, smoothness,  and forgiveness of the longer bow.

I hunt everything with a 70" Hill, from squirrels to black bear. I hunt in some really thick stuff, too.  The only time it's a bother is if I'm sitting with my butt on the ground, so I prefer to use a stool or chair.

66" or 68" for me. I hunt on the ground and in a treestand.

Think about this. If you were shooting a 60" bow and switched to a 68" bow that would be adding 4" to each end of the bow or about the width of your hand.
Not all that much different really.

I use a 66" and a 70".  Just hunt from the ground with no problem.  We have some pretty wooly stuff around here but I can get thru it fine and I am a little bit taller than my bows.
