Eastern Bear Hunt Opinions

So if you wanted to go on a bear hunt with a trad bow, let's say the eastern US, not necessarily for a record book bear -- just a nice average sized one, where would you go and why??

Best I've been able to find on an Eastern US bear hunt was up in Maine. I have a spring bear hunt booked for New Brunswick with an outfitter now. Some of the US hunts are a bit high, IMO. I've been checking them for quite a while now. The place I'm going to has good reviews and a buddy and his wife used the same outfitter 2-3 years back and had a great hunt. Both took 6' bears.

yeah, we do.  South ga counties only have 1 or 2 days depending on where you are at and most hunt with dogs down there.

N GA bear season runs with the deer season here, most of the land bears occupy is rugged mountain terrain--and it can be open hardwoods to the thickest mountain laruel you can find.  I have hunted them with muzzleloader for the past 2 years and had a shot here and there--but not harvested one yet.  We can't bait them, and no dog hunting in the N zone, so it's like deer or turkey, you have to put on your walking boots and cover some ground to find them.  Then if you kill one, since a lot of the N forsest land is "wilderness area" -- no device with a wheel can be used -- so if it's a big bear, its gonna be like packing a elk or mule deer out.  And you find out that you don't have as many friends   :D   as you thought you did when you ask for help dragging a 250-300+ lb bear over two or three mountians to get to the nearest highway

I was pondering the thought of going a little further north if an opportunity I could afford and can talk the wife into presented itself -- that would be a higher percentage of actually bringing one home.
