I shoot a 1970's Bear Grizzly (40# @ 28") with a 29" draw.
I Bare-shafted with an experienced friend today and found 45# cedars were too strongly spined (nock right). These were the weakest shafts he had on hand. Everything we shot had 125 grain field points.
I then tried a 28" (yep, too short for my draw length) 1816 fletched with 4" parabolics (not a bare shaft). They flew superb.
So, do you think 30" 1816's would work well out of my bow?
Referring to the chart in 3-rivers, it suggest a 2016. I don't know how accurate the chart is though.
In a perfect world, my buddy would have had some 1816, 1916 and 2016 bare shafts to try.
What size aluminums do you guys think I should order please?
Many thanks, Skychief.
Edited to mention that I shoot 3-under.
