When I Make a long box I usually cut several blanks on the table saw and it may be a month or more before I mill out the inside of even one the blanks. It was always a pain to get the right angle on my drill press table to keep the desired thickness of the box sides. Now I can just write on the bottom of the blank what my outside angle is and when it comes time to mill I just have to dial it in to where I want and start cutting.
The only bow I have made this summer is a sinew mulberry, it is ready for the turkey feather backing which i should be doing today. Was gonna make a mulberry long box to match it, but now thanks to you I think I am leaning to maybe a walnut with mulberry call like the one in this post. Should complement the dark turkey feather backing well.
