Pinch Points
« on: August 15, 2012, 11:00:00 PM »
Tell us about your favorite pinch point and how successful it has been for you.
I love to hunt pinch points. My favorite one I found on Google Earth. It is between two ridges. Where it narrows down is only six foot across! The sides of the ridges go straight up and there is a rock shelf on one side. I can set up there with a blind. It is about 20 ft. to the bottom so no treestand is needed. This is by far the best pinch point I have ever found. I have only been able to hunt it twice. The second time I shot an 8 point and hit him to high and to far back. Couldn't find but a speck or two of blood so he was OK.

I have a pinch point I hunt that has been great for me. It is a creek crossing caused by a sharp bend in the creek and a beaver dam a bit farther up.I killed deer #10 from that location this year. The same tree to be exact.
