??? about GT blems

For you gold tip guys. I've been trying for a week to get my 3555 GT blems tuned with an outcome not seen before. my set up is a 56 in acadian woods treestick pulling 54# at my 27 in draw, shafts are as stated above, cut to 29 1/2 in. with 325grains up front, still showing slightly stiff. Has anyone ever had 5575 or maybe 7595 marked as 3555 ? this is the only thing i can think of that may be causing this...
have shot regular GT expedition hunters for 10 years and never had anything like this before.

You have too much weight up front. Try 200 up front.

I had some carbons that were showing stiff,so I thought I could add some more weight upfront to weaken the spine. They got worse the more weight I added. They were in effect bouncing off the riser instead of flexing around it.Carbon recover much quicker, especially on bows cut oof center.I would try less weight upfront also and see how they react for you.

i shoot 3555 out of my 48-50# bows with anywhere from 150 to 200 up front, I think you are probably way weak.

you seem way too weak to me. Try downloading Stu Millers Spine Calculator. Its always been dead on for me

I spine checked a dozen blems I bought and they checked right where they should and were all within a minute amount of deflection of each other, don't know if yours are the same, but mine have all shot where they should, wish I could say the same!

I also have a 27" draw and my bows are between 52-56 lbs.My arrows are GT trads 29" bop with 275 up front. With a B-50 string I need to shoot 3555's but if I use a FF string I have to step up to a 5575.Hope this helps,Ken

That is real heavy up front for those shafts. Try about 200- 250g or cut one shaft a little and see if it gets better. You would be amazed at how much of a difference it would make just cutting off as little as 1/2".
Try building out the side plate just to see if things get better. If they do, you know the shafts are too weak and you can make adjustments from there.
good luck, bigjim

Oh, if you can't get it to work with 200 or more up front, I'd look at different shafts. 125g up front is below 8 g p lb and not worth it just to get an arrow to fly correctly.
Most boyers void warranties if they find out you shoot less than 8 g p lb.

according to stu millers calculator you would be better off with a gold tip 5575 cut to 29 inches with the standard insert and 200 grains up front. That would give you 9.7 gpp and a forward of center about 19.5 and a total arrow weight of 499
You may want to try 200 grains up front with your current set up but it still may be too weak, however carbons do tend to be more forgiving.

never had issues. my 53# bow likes full length 3555 with 100gr up front and tunes perfect, ILF with 45# limbs likes 1535's cut to about 28" with 100gr tips and the 50# limbs for it likes 5575's cut to 28.5 or 29" (cant remember) with 150gr upfront.

Buy all my blems for Big Jim and have never had any that I thought were "mis-marked."

Thanks for all replys. I've tried every point from 125 up to 250 and they all were showing stiff, the lighter ones ie: 125,145 etc hit extreme nock right, i'm right handed. I do have 100 gr brass inserts, and with a 225 point it is only slightly nock right. fletched one up last night and it shoots pretty well at 20 yds. I don't have access to a spine tester, I believe they must be labeled wrong.

different bows will handle them differently.
Try those arrows in your regular set up. That will tell you if they are ok. Or send them back and I'll check them, but have not seen any mismarked for years.
