Welcome from Connecticut....
I’m in a similar situation with shoulder recovery. I initially bought a 45# take-down recurve, but found that even at that weight, 40 arrows were all I could shoot before feeling a pinch. I didn’t want to lose any ground on the recovery, so I bought a pair of 35# limbs for my riser. I get a lot more back yard shooting in without any backlash from the shoulder. 35# is getting easier and easier. Pretty soon I’ll try moving back up to 45#. The take-down bow gives me the flexibility to progress at a safe pace. I can go up to 55# limbs with this riser, so I’ve got lots of potential to build the support muscles up without straining anything.
