Ohio acorns

I have a trip planned to southern Ohio for the opening week of bow season. Has anyone been able to determine how the acorn crop is going to be this year?

I was scouting in Tuscawaras County Ohio this past weekend. Tusc is to the east. It's considered SE Ohio by some and more mid-state by others. Acorns were pretty good in terms of quantity but they were actively dropping. This is WAY early but I confirmed it across a couple of properties. They were definitely coming down in decent quantities, I can only think it's from the dry weather we had in July.

The white oaks seem to be better than the red oaks this year from what I've observed so far.

Neighborhood red oaks are dropping some small green ones now (and a few leaves from the drought), in west Licking county. Seem to be better ones on the trees yet.

I just talked to my buddy in Adams county and he said acorns started dropping 3 weeks ago, not many just a few. I'm going up for the first 2 weeks of bow season and will go back arround the 29th if I still have a buck tag.

About the same in Southern Indiana. Picture taken seconds before I ran crying back to the truck covered in ticks.

I also have green acorns but not one apple on any of the dozen or more trees that I checked.
