Wild Pigs in Germany
«

I had to make a business trip to France this week on short notice. We are heading to Germany this weekend to my friends parents. The great news is they have a large wild pig hunting area very close. Although I won't get to hunt them we plan to go out Saturday and chase them around and hopefully get some pictures. If only I could find an archery shop close by!!

Isn't bowhunting illegal in Germany? If so, I wouldn't sweat it--there seems to be plenty of piggies in the good old USA.

I was there in the early 90's all over the country, the only place I saw pigs was in (can't spell it right so phonetic)Graff-en-veer. Those things were easily 4 feet tall at the shoulder and looked like razorbacks to me. Mean suckers , chased a guy from the chow line all the way to his howitzer trying to steal his grub.
You may want to reconsider molestin 'em.

I was stationed there for 6 years, first thing I did was get my jagdschein (German Hunting License) Bowhunting is Illegal in Germany and we normally hunted them at night with rifles, you can find them in the himbeer and brombeer thickets bedded down in the day. Good luck, watch out for the Ticks, they are thick.

Also if you get to Mannheim they have a Wildpark that has pigs, mouflon, red deer, bison and roe deer, we used to run PT around it every day, people refer to it as "Buffalo Park".

No. I was not in the gun-jeep that lit one up with a mounted M-60 in 1981. Near Graff. Nope. Not me.

We had a Mexican fellow in our squad who could have roed deer from road kill to spit in about 7 minutes. He said he had a lot of practice on goats.
