Zwickey single bevel broadheads

Just wondering if anybody has an opinion on the Zwickey single bevels compared to the others on the market...been shooting wensel woodsmans the last few years and have been thinking about switching, but not sure in which direction.

I have not seen any in person but the way that the no Mercy is triple laminated only on the tip and not the whole thing like a grizzly I would figure would cause a problem with shapening.  BTW why are ya giving up on the Woodsman heads?

The Zwicky single bevel No Mercy was my first broadhead to try when I switched to traditional last year.  I destroyed them trying to sharpen them.  Because of the lamination, you just can't sharpen them correctly.  I have heard nothing but good things about there double bevels though.

I used Zwicky NO MERCY right single bevels last year and they sharpened nicely for me and flew like bullets.  I hand sharpen and start out with a BIG file to get them to the correct shape (25 degree edge) and create the desired burr. Next, I use a diamond stick to remove the burr and "polish" the bevel face so it is smooth.  Finally, I usually strop on leather, but I have also had success dragging on cardboard (from the back of a pad of paper).

Having said that I also like using right bevel Grizzly BHs and use the same method as described above to sharpen.

I love the double bevels...I personally can't sharpen single bevels but can shave hair with no time on the doubles.

I too would think the triple layered tip would cause a problem when sharpening. I would go with their double bevel heads. I can get them razor sharp and they will penetrate just fine as a double bevel.

I use a file on 'em, it works but they are far from the easiest single bevel to sharpen.  They fly well and are Zwickey tough, and they do rotate in my broadheads targets like you'd expect a single bevel to do.

I honestly think the best No Mercy is the double bevel 4 blade, and the double bevel 2 blade in that order.

Been shooting Zwickeys since the mid 80s for a reason....they work....never seen a need to worry about bevels.

Thanks for the info, not giving up on my woodsmans, too close to season to switch now.  Have been looking at single bevels on line and just curious on how well they have worked for others.  Kinda like bows so many to choose from but to liitle time to try them all

If you think you have to have a single bevel, you will fine others that are easier to sharpen.  The Tri-Lam does make it harder to get sharp in a single bevel.
